What is Omakase?

Omakase translates to “the chefs’ hands/I will leave it up to the chef” and is equivalent to a Chef’s Tasting Menu. It’s a fine tradition that gives the chef a creative freedom and the customer a memorable dining experience.

What is your menu like?

Makizushico offers an Edomae style tasting menu, consisting of small plates, a selection of seasonal nigiri, and dessert. Seasonal nigiri takes center stage in our omakase. Our tasting menu offers guests a variety of sushi, requests for additional sushi are welcome. The sushi commonly known around the world today is a combination of fresh raw fish, and cooked rice which is seasoned with vinegar. However, this is only a single variation within many other types of sushi that exist in Japan. This particular type of sushi is a rather modern Japanese cuisine initially created by the Edo (old name for Tokyo) fast food businesses during the 1820’s.

Do you offer a beverage pairing?

Yes, our beverage pairing is comprised of a mix of sake and wine and it costs $60.
